About jobs at TiVo Inc.

Do I have to own a TiVo unit to work at TiVo?

No, although we do think using our products and services is fun and simplifies your life. If you don't have one and are hired at TiVo, we'll give you one!

How does TiVo find talent?

We use multiple channels and tools to find the best-fitting folks for our team. Here is a snapshot of where we found talent over our last fiscal year (ending January 31, 2008).

I didn't see an opening that fit me; what now?

While timing is a critical aspect to finding the right position fit, we have a solution! If you visit our "Alert" page here, we can send you a note when a position that fits your interest opens up. Just let us know how to contact you, and we're happy to make it easy for you to hear from us!

Does TiVo have any part-time or contract positions?

Yes we do. Such opportunities are noted in the listings of open positions.

What is the selection experience like at TiVo?

While there are several ways you could be matched to one of our openings (see "How does TiVo find talent?" above), the selection or interview process is pretty straight forward:

  1. A phone conversation with a TiVo recruiter
  2. A conference call with the hiring manager or a technical phone screen with the interview team
  3. An on-site interview with a cross-section of TiVo staff
  4. A second on-site interview with more senior TiVo staff, including executives
  5. Background check, reference checks, and, if handling consumer credit information, a credit report check
  6. A verbal offer is given
  7. If the verbal offer is accepted, a written offer is given
  8. Transition and TiVo on-boarding takes place before and on your first day!

Special note: If at any time you are not selected to proceed further in the interview process, your recruiter will contact you personally to communicate this news. We think you deserve the respect.

How do I know my status in the selection process?

If you haven't received a call from the recruiter, please check your status at the TiVo Jobs? page. The requisition might have been filled internally, or we determined that there were other candidates more closely fitting the opening and are pursuing them at this time etc. You are always welcome to contact someone on the recruiting team with specific questions, including a request for an update.
