Recruiting agencies & staffing firms
External talent vendors
At TiVo Inc., we believe partnership is good business. Due to the volume of inquiries, we'd like to share some basics of how we approach things.
General Parameters:
Bias towards specialization: Rarely do we look for "generalist" firms who can recruit from A-Z talent. We're pretty focused at TiVo and appreciate those who are deep in specific skills. A standard question we ask is, "How many of [insert role/title] have you filled here in [insert geographic location] over the last 12 months?" The more details you can provide, the better. Do note that prior to engaging in detail conversations with TiVo, an NDA will need to be singed and submitted.
Agreements: A firm (whether contingent, retained, or a variation thereof), must have a current agreement signed, countersigned, and initialed by the TiVo Legal Department.* This agreement governs how searches are assigned to external recruiting firms and how candidates are submitted to TiVo. It's good business.
Submission of any candidate by firms from any party who has not previously been approved by the TiVo Human Resources Department* and does not have a signed contract with TiVo will be considered the property of TiVo Inc. with all rights and privileges extending thereto and no compensation in any form shall be owed by TiVo to any submitting party.
Questions:
How can I/my firm help TiVo? A frequent question and offer from firms. We do not automatically call out openings to agencies. The best thing to do would be to submit your information and, should there be an opportunity to work with you, we'd be happy to contact you.
How does TiVo go about getting its talent? We use several channels. See a break down of our sources of hires for our last fiscal year.
How often does TiVo review it's vendor list? Once a quarter or as business needs warrant it.
How can I/my firm be considered for partnership with TiVo? While TiVo is not currently soliciting new recruitment partners, we are happy to consider requests from contingency firms for future partnership in our vendor program. If you would like to receive more information on how to gain partnership with TiVo, please submit your agency's information.
Direct placement firms: TiVo primarily uses firms on a contingency fee-based model. All vendors are vetted by the TiVo Talent Team and work with the recruiter in partnership for the completion of assigned search.
Temporary worker firms* (not 1099 or consultants or consulting firms): TiVo has a primary vendor relationship with West Valley Staffing Group. Any new firms wishing to partner with TiVo must first sign an "Associate Agreement" with this firm.
