Standard TVs are more of a square shape than the rectangular shape of an HDTV. Standard TVs are not capable of supporting HD television programming.

All TiVo DVRs are compatible with standard TVs. You may prefer to purchase one of our HD DVRs if you ever plan to purchase an HDTV, or if you would like the additional recording capacity those models provide.
