How to download movies from Jaman

When you link your TiVo service account to your Jaman account, you're able to rent movies and have them delivered automatically to your broadband-connected TiVo box.

This feature is available on:

  • Series 2
  • Series3
  • TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL
  • TiVo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL

Linking your accounts

Before you begin downloading movies from Jaman, you need to link your TiVo and Jaman accounts. Here's how:

Show the steps
  1. On your computer, sign in to your TiVo service account at tivo.com.
  2. Select "DVR preferences" on the left, and make sure your TiVo boxes are enabled for transfers and video downloads.
  3. Create your Jaman account at Jaman.com. Make note of your Jaman user name and password.
  4. On your TiVo box, do one of the following
    • On TiVo Premiere with HD menus: go to 'TiVo Central' > 'Find TV, movies, & on demand' > 'Jaman.'
    • On all other TiVo boxes or on TiVo Premiere with SD menus: go to 'TiVo Central' > 'Video on Demand' > 'Jaman Movies & Shorts.'See it
  5. Browse Jaman and find a movie you want to rent. You'll be prompted with instructions to link your Jaman and TiVo accounts as the first step of the rental process.See it

    Remember, you will need your Jaman user name, your Jaman password, and your TiVo.com password to complete the account linking.

Once the linking process is complete, return to browsing Jaman videos.

Finding and downloading videos – from your TV

You can browse movies to download at Jaman.com, or using your TiVo box. Here's how:

  1. On your TiVo box, do one of the following:
    • On TiVo Premiere with HD menus: go to 'TiVo Central' > 'Find TV, movies, & on demand' > 'Jaman.'
    • On all other TiVo boxes or on TiVo Premiere with SD menus: go to 'TiVo Central' > 'Video on Demand' > 'Jaman Movies & Shorts.'See it
  2. Select a category to browse available downloads.See it
  3. When you find a video to download, select "Rent this movie."
  4. You can also select "Search Jaman" to enter a title or keyword.

Note: Rented videos appear on your box's Now Playing or My Shows list. Videos are available for viewing within about 15 minutes of ordering. The copyright holder sets the length of time you are allowed to keep the video. The rental period begins immediately upon playback.

Note: Viewing availability may vary, depending on Internet connection and home networking speeds. You may experience pauses when watching during the download.
