How to schedule recordings from the Web on your TiVo® DVR
Browse TV listings and schedule recordings on your home DVR from the Find TV shows section of tivo.com.
Using tivo.com to schedule recordings on your TiVo DVR at home
It’s easy to find and record shows online. Here’s how:
- Hide the steps
Sign in to your account at tivo.com and click “Online Scheduling.”
Find a program to record:
- Use the ‘Search TV’ box at the top of the page to look for program titles, people, or keywords. Narrow your search to specific categories using the drop-down menu.
- Click ‘Browse TV Listings’ to use the program grid.
- Click any featured program title
Choose the program you want, then choose ‘Record this episode’ or ‘Get a Season Pass.’
Confirm which DVR to record to, and set your recording priority and recording quality.
Choose whether to receive a confirmation e-mail message.
When you’re finished, click ‘Schedule It!’
Note: If your TiVo DVR is broadband-connected, it frequently checks the TiVo service for your recording requests, and you can schedule a recording within an hour of its air time. If your DVR is connected via a phone line, it will check for your recording requests the next time your DVR connects to the TiVo service (usually within 24 hours).
Tell a Friend
When displaying your search results, TiVo Central Online offers you the option of telling a friend about the programs you found. Just click Tell a Friend About This Search on the right side.
When you provide a friend’s email address, TiVo Central Online will send details about your program search along with a personal message from you.
The email message your friend receives includes a link to TiVo Central Online so your friend can schedule a recording of the same program, or browse the same search results. Your friend’s email address will be used only to send this message and not for any other purpose.
Schedule recordings from other TV listings online
TiVo Online Scheduling also works with other web sites that offer TV listings. You can browse TV shows at:
- MeeVee.com – Look for the TiVo icon while browsing.
- TVGuide.com – Select ‘Record with TiVo.’
- Yahoo.com – Look for ‘Record to TiVo’ in TV listings.
- Zap2it.com – Select ‘Record to TiVo.’
You’ll need to create an account at the TV listing site, then link it to your TiVo account to schedule recordings on your TiVo DVR. Just click the TiVo link while browsing TV listings and follow the instructions.
