Get TiVo. Just do it. Don't whine about how the DVRs from the cable company are free. Don't argue that they have bigger hard drives. If you like TV, you'll step up to TiVo. Think of it this way: A lot of the phones offered by wireless carriers are free, but you still bought an iPhone (or at least an Android), right? Why? The difference between that junky Nokia and an addiction-inducing iPhone 4 is the same as the difference between a stock Comcast box and a new TiVo: the interface. There are exactly three companies in this world that are truly great at interface design — Apple, Google, and TiVo.
In fact, using and navigating TiVo is a little like playing with an iPhone or checking Gmail — the act is simply a pleasure. Other DVRs are frustrating and clunky; TiVo is elegant and smart. And it does everything: It handles Netflix Instant, Amazon On Demand, and Blockbuster on Demand: lets you surf videos from sites like YouTube; acts as your cable box and pulls in over-the-air signals; hosts and streams music. TiVo provides flexibility & reliability that cable DVRs can't match. From little extras such as the viewing window while in the TiVo menu to great quality with the ability to switch between SD & HD, TiVo beats other DVRs hand down! I love the customization & TiVo suggestions as well as the ability to transfer recordings between boxes, the PC, & my iPad. I take my shows with me wherever I want & I watch them whenever I want. Thanks TiVo for a great viewing experience every time.

TiVo is the future! One box to do everything. You can buy an internet connected TV for an extra couple hundred bucks, but why? Get TiVo Premiere and a cable card and you are set for life. It organizes all your favorite programming for you and searches all sources you use. It searches your cable company, Netflix, Blockbuster and more. Download your favorite movies rather than buy blu-ray movies. This will save you up to $30 a pop.

Having suffered through a certain cable company's DVR service for the last 5 years I can say without a doubt the TiVo is just remarkably better. It is responsive and reliable and having used it for the last month, it really has started to understand my preferences recording shows I didn't even realize I wanted to watch. Having access to Netflix, and Amazon's On Demand services just add to the overall joy of owning this device.

I now understand what TiVo means when they say it is the one-box. I used to have 3 remotes, now I have one simple TIVO remote. I don't need my blu-ray recorder, don't need my cable box (or cable service if I wanted to pinch pennies). TiVo, Netflix and a connection to internet are all you really need. I haven't watched a commercial since buying TiVo. It is the most user friendly electronic device I have ever used.

TiVo Premiere is a "MUST HAVE" piece of equipment to complete your entertainment center. With Netflix, Pandora, Rhapsody,and soon to come Hulu Plus its not missing anything. You can even stream from your home computer your music database and photos. I haven't even begin to tell you all it does. Get it. Your not going to have buyer remorse over this one.

Plan and simple it is the best thing since sliced bread. Always reliable, always knows what I want to watch even when I don't.
If my house caught on fire, it would be the first material item I would save.
