Can I trade in or upgrade my existing DVR to a new model?

If you purchased the DVR within the last 30 days:

 
  • If you bought the DVR from a retailer, go back to the retailer and ask about their return policy. Remember, if the retailer is able to exchange the DVR, you must transfer your service to the new DVR. See How do I transfer my TiVo Service to a new DVR? for more information.
  • If you bought the DVR from the TiVo Store, please contact TiVo Customer Support.
 

If you purchased the DVR more than 30 days ago:

 

No, you cannot trade in or upgrade your DVR. You may be eligible to transfer your service to a newly-purchased TiVo DVR. See How do I transfer my TiVo Service to a new DVR? for instructions.
