| | To set IR control settings using the Advanced Settings screen, perform the following steps: |
| | Select one of the following: I am currently in Guided Setup I have already completed Guided Setup |

| | Navigate through Guided Setup screens until you reach the Channel Changing Tests screen.

| | |
| |

| | If you have already passed this point in Guided Setup, it may be necessary for you to remove the power cord from the back of the DVR and then plug it back in. This will restart the Guided Setup process. Once the DVR has restarted, proceed through the screens until you reach the Channel Changing Tests screen.
|
| | On your TiVo remote, press the following keys in order:
|

| | - THUMBS UP
- THUMBS DOWN
- PAUSE
- PLAY
|
| | You should hear 5 dings when they enter the key sequence above. If they do not hear the dings, enter the code again.
|
| | On the Support Information screen, press SELECT to continue.
|

| | On the Channel Changing Tests screen, you should now see the phrase "Press ENTER for advanced setup" at the bottom of the screen. Press the ENTER key on your remote.

| | You will now see the Cable Channel Changing Advanced Setup screen. Highlight IR Code and press SELECT.

| | You can also change the number of cable digits and the "enter" key setting on this screen.

| | You will now see the Select IR Code screen. The table below lists some common IR codes for specific cable and satellite boxes. Choose the common code for your cable or satellite box by typing it in using the number buttons on your TiVo remote. If you are not successful using one of the codes from the table below, you can obtain additional codes by contacting Customer Support.

| | On the next screen, try each version of the code several times to find which one is most reliable. To try a code, press the CHAN UP button on the remote and see if the video in the background changes. Select the one that is most reliable.

| | If none of the codes work, go back to the previous screen by pressing LEFT and then enter another IR code.

| | Once you have selected a code, select Use these settings. Proceed with Guided Setup.

| | Go to the Channel Changing screen. From TiVo Central; select Messages & Settings; then Settings; then Channels; then Channel Changing.

| | Answer each screen until you get to the Channel Changing Setup screen. Highlight Advanced Setup and press SELECT.
