Which network adapters work with my TiVo DVR?
| 14-03-01 | Search Reference Number |
TiVo Series 2, Series2 DT, and all HD TiVo DVRs can be connected to the TiVo service through your home network either via a wireless or wired connection.
- For a wireless connection, all TiVo DVRs require a compatible USB wireless adapter.
- For a wired connection, only the TiVo Series2 single-tuner DVR requires an adapter. Series2 DT and all HD TiVo DVRs have a built-in Ethernet support and an Ethernet connector on the back where you can plug in a CAT-5 Ethernet cable to connect to your home network.
IMPORTANT: Some adapters require an updated version of TiVo software. If you just purchased your DVR or received it as a replacement through an exchange, you may need to update the software on the DVR before you can use a certain adapter. Go to TiVo software version information to find the "shipping" and current versions of software for your DVR, and instructions on how to update the software on your DVR, if necessary.
The following sections list compatible wireless and wired adapters that can be used with your TiVo DVR.

Unfortunately, you are likely to see errors or failures in other areas. For that reason, all other adapters are considered to be unsupported if you are experiencing a problem.
