With so many questionable shows available to your children, you need a second line of defense when you can't be in the room. TiVo restores your peace of mind with a host of family-friendly features, and lets you manage exactly what you want your children to watch.

High-quality shows for kids
Only you know what programming is best for your kids. But if you'd like ideas from some leading organizations that care about children's TV, we've made it easy to get their recording recommendations on your TiVo DVR.

There are KidZone Guides available from:

Swivel from actors, to movies, to other actors, to other movies. Select your favorite director and see every movie available to record or download. Select one of those movies and see all of the actors in it. Select an actor and see the other movies they've starred in. When you've found a movie you like, see recommendations for other movies you might like. With Swivel Search, you can easily wander through the all of the TV shows and movies available on your TiVo DVR and record or download the ones that interest you.

You can choose to automatically record all of the shows they recommend, or select only those that interest you. Of course, you don't need to follow KidZone Guide recommendations. You can always choose exactly the shows you want your kids to be able to see.

Pre-approve kids TV
When you enable KidZone on your TiVo DVR, you can select the programs and channels that your children can watch. You can also block specific shows on channels that you have approved, to keep your kids from watching those shows you just can't stand. When you let your children watch TV, you'll be comfortable knowing they can only get to shows you've approved.

Kids can't see, cancel, or delete recordings
With TiVo KidZone, your kids can only see their own shows. They only have access to the KidZone Now Playing List, where the shows you have pre-approved appear. They can't get to any of your programs, or any of the DVR settings.

When it is grown-up TV time, just enter your four-digit password and the DVR will stay unlocked until you enter KidZone again. Or, let the DVR automatically re-lock itself when you leave it unused for four hours—so when the kids wake up the next morning, you know the TV is safe.
