Troubleshooting tips

  • If a PoE filter is installed in the wrong place, it could block MoCA signals to your devices. Make sure your MoCA network works properly before you install a PoE filter, and then test it again after you install the filter. If your MoCA network still works properly, the filter is installed correctly.
  • Never choose encryption for your MoCA network (on the TiVo MoCA setup screen). Encryption can make your DVR incompatible with certain MoCA Network Adapters and other MoCa devices. Instead, secure your MoCA network by using a PoE filter.
  • You should only enable your home’s MoCA network once. That means that only one MoCA Network Adapter should be connected directly to your router. This network adapter can be either an external MoCA adapter (see Step 1A or 1B) or the adapter that’s built in to your TiVo Roamio Plus/Pro or Premiere 4/XL4/Elite DVR (see Step 1C) If you have more than one adapter connected to your home network, the network may fail.
