Life After People
How various things might change in a post-human world.
|"Depths of Destruction" The underground world undergoes devastating changes; geothermal power plants buckle under the strain of superheated steam; America's former nuclear military command center comes under attack; 400 million animals overrun a town. (Repeat)||H2|
|"The Invaders" Earth is invaded by predatory forces; pythons that were formerly pets battle native alligators for domination in the Everglades; invasive plants strip oxygen from rivers and lakes; desert sandstorms invade Phoenix; Shanghai sinks. (Repeat)||H2|
|"The Bodies Left Behind" The quest for immortality and what might happen to bodies left behind that were embalmed and buried, mummified or cryogenically frozen in a post-human world. (Repeat)||H2|
On the heels of the History channel special that explored what Earth might be like if the human race were suddenly to disappear comes a series that provides, in even-more detail, a picture of a post-human future, revealing the fate of structures like the Sears Tower and the Sistine Chapel and creatures that might inherit the places we once lived. Supporting the visuals and special effects are interviews with specialists from the fields of engineering, botany, biology, geology and archaeology.
