It's time for another crop of contestants to do battle in the annual culinary competition that ends with one challenger earning his or her own show on Food Network. Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay return to mentor and, at times, judge the hopefuls through the weekly challenges that test the finalists' personalities, on-air abilities and culinary chops. The companion online series is back this year, giving an eliminated contestant a chance to re-enter the competition. This season's tasks include making a signature dish for a food festival, cooking for a Fourth of July-themed celebration and a do-or-die live TV demo. The 12 chefs vying for their own show include former NFL player Eddie, who was a contestant on the fourth season of ``MasterChef,'' and TV producer/culinary instructor Sita. Guest judges throughout the season include Bobby Deen, Rachael Ray and David Alan Grier, with network executives Bob Tuschman and Susie Fogelson again serving as the selection committee.
