TiVo Premiere plugs directly into your cable service and replaces your old cable box with a CableCARD™ you get from your cable company. In most cases, you can return your old cable box to your cable provider and stop paying the monthly rental fee. While Premiere is fully compatible with your cable service, it does not replace your cable service; you still need a cable provider to deliver your cable TV programming.
