Service Plan Terms and Conditions

Any TiVo Unified Entertainment System, TiVo DVR or TiVo Mini requires a TiVo service subscription, and we currently offer several options:

For purchases on tivo.com, or through any other retail sales channel, of any new models (or models previously activated for 30 or fewer days) of the TiVo BOLT or the TiVo Roamio (other than a TiVo Roamio OTA 1 TB), you may select any of the following service subscriptions:

• A monthly service plan, at the current rate of $14.99/month (plus any applicable taxes), with a one (1)-year commitment and a $75 early termination fee1; or

• An annual service plan, at the then-published rate (currently $149.99/year, plus any applicable taxes)2; or

• An All-in plan, for a one (1)-time payment at the current rate of $549.99 (plus any applicable taxes).3

For purchases through any retail sales channel of any model of the TiVo BOLT or TiVo Roamio (other than a TiVo Roamio OTA 1 TB) previously activated for over 30 days, you may select any of the following service subscriptions:

• A monthly service plan, at the current rate of $14.99/month (plus any applicable taxes), with no commitment; or

• An annual service plan, at the then-published rate (currently $149.99/year, plus any applicable taxes)2; or

• An All-in plan, for a one (1)-time payment at the current rate of $549.99 (plus any applicable taxes).3

For purchases on tivo.com, or through any other retail sales channel, of a new or previously activated TiVo Roamio OTA 1 TB, an All-in plan3 is included with your box purchase price.

For purchases, through any retail sales channel, of any previously activated model of the TiVo Premiere, you may select either:

• A monthly service plan, at the current rate of $14.99/month (plus any applicable taxes), with no commitment; or

• An All-in plan, for a one (1)-time payment at the current rate of $549.99 (plus any applicable taxes).3

For purchases, through any retail sales channel, of any previously activated TiVo DVR model other than a TiVo BOLT, TiVo Roamio or TiVo Premiere, you may select either:

• A monthly service plan, at the current rate of $12.95/month (plus any applicable taxes), with no commitment; or

• An All-in plan, for a one (1)-time payment at the current rate of $549.99 (plus any applicable taxes).3

Additional Terms and Restrictions

TiVo Service Subscriptions:

• No-commitment monthly service is available with the purchase of a new full-priced TiVo device directly from TiVo (call TiVo Customer Service, at 877-289-8486, for more information). No-commitment monthly service is available with the purchase of a previously activated TiVo device from a third party.

• With respect solely to any TiVo BOLT or TiVo Roamio DVR which is eligible for, and on which you have obtained, either an annual service plan or a monthly service plan (but not an All-in plan): your service plan includes, at no additional charge, an enhanced limited warranty (known as "Continual Care") for the full, uninterrupted duration of your annual or monthly TiVo service subscription. With Continual Care, and for a cost of $49.00 (plus shipping and any applicable taxes) after ninety (90) days from your purchase date, you can exchange a defective or inoperative TiVo BOLT or TiVo Roamio DVR for a repaired, renewed or comparable product (at TiVo's discretion). The exchange exclusions and restrictions contained in the TiVo DVR Limited Warranty continue to apply; please visit Limited Warranty Info for details.

• Under certain TiVo offers, particular service plan options (e.g., a monthly plan; an annual service plan; an All-in plan) may not be available. Call TiVo Customer Service (at 877-367-8486) for details on any such current promotional offers.

• All features, functionality and offers are subject to change or withdrawal at any time without notice. • The TiVo BOLT and TiVo DVRs do not work with satellite. The TiVo Premiere 4/XL4/Elite DVRs and the TiVo Roamio Pro/Plus DVRs are intended for use with digital cable systems only and do not work with external cable boxes, analog cable, or over-the-air antennas. The TiVo BOLT does not work with external cable boxes or analog cable.

To receive digital cable channels, a TiVo BOLT or TiVo DVR requires one multi-stream CableCARD decoder from your cable provider. Additional fees may apply.

1 Monthly TiVo service subscriptions will continue after the 1-year commitment period at the same monthly rate (unless we notify you otherwise) until you call TiVo Customer Service (at 877-367-8486) to cancel your TiVo service.

Continual Care Protection

TiVo's Continual Care protection covers your TiVo BOLT for the uninterrupted duration of your monthly or annual TiVo service subscription.

Continual Care does not apply to the All-in Service Plan.

TiVo's Continual Care warranty covers your TiVo BOLT® or TiVo Roamio for the uninterrupted duration of your monthly or annual TiVo service subscription. WIth TiVo Continual Care Protection we'll send you a replacement box at no charge if your TiVo BOLT® or TiVo Roamio needs repair within the first 90 days from your date of purchase.* After 90 days, you'll receive a replacement box for just $49.00.** No one else in the industry offers protection quite like this.

  • Does TiVo BOLT™ work with my existing cable service? What do I do with the cable box from my cable company?

    Yes, TiVo BOLT plays nice with all major cable providers and Verizon FiOS, so you don't need to change your provider if you don't want to. As a bonus, Comcast subscribers can access all their XFINITY® On Demand programming through their TiVo BOLT. Same goes for many COX Cable subscribers and their COX On Demand content.

     
  • What cable channels do I get with my TiVo BOLT?

    The TiVo BOLT delivers all the channels currently included in your cable subscription. 

  • What the heck is a CableCARD™ device and why would I even want one?

    You'd want a CableCARD device because it works like a translator that unscrambles the gibberish that comes from your cable company. Simply put, it's a small, plug-in card that's inserted into a slot on your TiVo BOLT so you can receive digital cable channels. A CableCARD device is supplied by your cable company. Once inserted and activated, a CableCARD device ensures that you get all the high-definition and digital cable channels included in your cable TV subscription package. Some cable operators offer CableCARD devices free of charge, while other cable operators may charge a nominal monthly rental fee.   • So how does the TiVo money-back guarantee thingy work?

    TiVo offers a 30-day, money-back guarantee—we just don't call it a thingy. This guarantee applies only to your initial TiVo service activation; as long as you cancel service within 30 days (usually from when your order ships) and then promptly return the TiVo box or accessory (undamaged and with all its contents), you're entitled to a full refund.     TiVo BOLT was built with an eye on the future. It'll deliver eye-popping, blow-your-socks-off Ultra High Definition programming as soon as it starts streaming, from content providers like Netflix and YouTube with more being added in the future. The TiVo BOLT is ready and waiting on them—and, of course, you'll need a 4K TV and a broadband Internet connection, and you may have to pay some fees to those third-party providers. Oh, and when networks start adding 4K content, you'll be able to record those programs just like HD content. Your eyeballs will thank you for thinking ahead and investing in TiVo BOLT.

     

  • The idea of skipping entire commercial breaks at the press of a button has me feeling all tingly inside. How exactly does SkipMode™ work?

    SkipMode is available when you're watching a recorded show. Although not all shows will be available with the SkipMode feature, we've taken great pains to ensure we're covering most of the channels that most people in the TiVo community record a lot. See channel details. Any show you record that is enabled with the SkipMode feature will display a SKIP icon next to the episode title in MyShows. Once a commercial break starts, just hit the green "D" button or the Channel Up button, and you'll resume to your show in the blink of an eye. Cool, eh? If you hit the button during a program, you'll skip all the way through your show and through the next commercial break, so you can pick up on the other side, which is totally awesome for skipping those dull parts you don't want to see.

  • I've got a need for speed. How can QuickMode™ help someone like me?

    Some programming is nice to watch at a faster pace—news, baseball, soccer and political speeches come to mind. When activated, QuickMode plays your recorded shows at a 30% faster rate, while also keeping the audio from getting squirrely on you. This pitch-corrected audio lets you comfortably speed through content and understand what everyone is saying. You can watch a 60-minute show in approximately 40 minutes. (And if you're skipping commercial breaks, you're moving even faster.) 

     

  • Can I receive cable channels and channels from an HD antenna at the same time?

    No. This is pretty much an "either or" situation. 

  • What if I have an HD antenna? What are my options?

    The TiVo BOLT 500 GB and TiVo BOLT 1000 GB both work with either an HD antenna or cable.

  • Does TiVo BOLT give me enough space to record all my shows?

    The TiVo BOLT was built to entertain. With the TiVo BOLT 500 GB, you can record up to 75 hours of HD programming. The TiVo BOLT 1000 GB doubles that. Still not enough? You can always purchase additional storage capacity for your TiVo BOLT. See our accessories page for more details.
