The TiVo service keeps your TiVo box running smoothly. The TiVo service powers cross-platform universal searches, runs the voice remote control and fuels exclusive features like SkipMode®, QuickMode® and OnePass™. You have three payment options when it comes to the TiVo service. You can pay a monthly or annual TiVo service fee or pay just once with an All-In Service Plan. For those with monthly or annual service plans, continual care protection is also included as part of your TiVo service fee.

Service Plan Terms and Conditions

Any TiVo DVR requires a TiVo service subscription, and we currently offer several options:

For Antenna-only TiVo devices:

For purchases on tivo.com, or through any other retail sales channel, of any new models (or models previously activated for 30 or fewer days) of the TiVo EDGE for Antenna or TiVo BOLT OTA for Antenna you may select one of the following service subscriptions:

  • A monthly service plan, at the current rate of $6.99/month (plus any applicable taxes), with a one (1)-year commitment and a $75 early termination fee1; or
  • An annual service plan, at the current rate of $69.99/year (plus any applicable taxes)2; or
  • An All-in plan, for a one (1)-time payment at the current rate of $249.99 (plus any applicable taxes).3
For purchases through any retail sales channel of any model of the TiVo EDGE for Antenna or, TiVo BOLT OTA for Antenna previously activated for over 30 days, you may select one of the following service subscriptions:
  • A monthly service plan, at the current rate of $14.99/month (plus any applicable taxes), with no commitment; or
  • An annual service plan, at the current rate of $69.99/year (plus any applicable taxes)2; or

TiVo Service Subscriptions:

No-commitment monthly service is available with the purchase of a previously activated TiVo device from a third party.
  • With respect solely to any TiVo EDGE for Cable, TiVo EDGE for Antenna, TiVo BOLT, TiVo BOLT+, TiVo BOLT VOX, TiVo BOLT OTA, or TiVo Roamio DVR which is eligible for, and on which you have obtained, either an annual service plan or a monthly service plan (but not an All-in plan): your service plan includes, at no additional charge, an enhanced limited warranty (known as "Continual Care") for the full, uninterrupted duration of your annual or monthly TiVo service subscription. With Continual Care, and for a cost of $49.00 (plus shipping and any applicable taxes) after ninety (90) days from your purchase date, you can exchange a defective or inoperative TiVo EDGE for Cable, TiVo EDGE for Antenna, TiVo BOLT, TiVo BOLT+, TiVo BOLT VOX, TiVo BOLT OTA, or TiVo Roamio DVR for a repaired, renewed or comparable product (at TiVo's discretion).     To receive digital cable channels, a TiVo EDGE for Cable, TiVo BOLT, TiVo BOLT+ or TiVo BOLT VOX requires one multi-stream CableCARD decoder from your cable provider. Additional fees may apply.

What channels do I get with my TiVo EDGE for antenna?

In general, if you are in a major urban area in the United States, you can expect to receive several free HDTV channels including most networks on your TiVo EDGE for antenna. The quality of your HDTV reception is based on the proximity to HDTV broadcast towers, the type of antenna you’re using and its location (indoor, outdoor, height off the ground, direction).

Is my TiVo EDGE for antenna covered by a warranty?

Every new TiVo EDGE for antenna includes a manufacturer’s limited warranty that offers 90 days of coverage for parts & labor and parts coverage for one year starting from the purchase date. In addition, every monthly or annual service plan on a TiVo EDGE for antenna comes with a Continual Care warranty included, which will replace a non-working, out-of-warranty TiVo EDGE for antenna for just $49.99 (plus shipping and any applicable taxes) as long as you maintain continuous, active TiVo service.*

How does TiVo’s money-back guarantee work?

Are the TiVo EDGE for antenna and TiVo Mini VOX 4K UHD compatible?

The TiVo EDGE for antenna and Mini VOX were built with a vision of the future, delivering eye-popping, blow-your-socks-off 4K Ultra High Definition programming from content providers like Netflix and YouTube, as easily as your HDTV content. You will need a 4K UHD capable TV, broadband Internet connection and 4K UHD content (an additional 4K UHD subscription may be required from your favorite third-party TV providers).

I want to use my current TiVo Mini with a TiVo EDGE for antenna. Can I do that?

Yes! Your TiVo Mini can connect to a TiVo EDGE as a host. Because your Mini must use the same software version as its host, you’ll be prompted to upgrade your Mini to the New TiVo Experience the first time you connect it to a TiVo EDGE host. If you later connect to a TiVo DVR that is not running the New TiVo Experience, your Mini may prompt you to downgrade in order to access the TiVo DVR running an older software version. Note that you will need to purchase a separate TiVo Remote to use voice commands with your existing Mini

Does my TiVo EDGE for antenna box give me voice control?

Yes! Your TiVo EDGE for antenna, 2TB comes with a remote which enables you to use voice commands to search, play, record and get to your content faster. The remote also has a see-in-the dark keyboard that lets you press the right key, no matter the lighting. The adaptive backlit keyboard makes setting up recordings, text entry and finding your favorites fast and easy – even while watching in the dark.

The idea of skipping entire commercial breaks at the press of a button almost sounds too good to be true. How does SkipMode® and AutoSkip work?

Any recorded show enabled with the SkipMode feature will display a SKIP icon next to the episode title in My Shows. When a commercial break starts, just press the blue VOICE button and say, “Skip it” or hit the green SKIP button on your remote, and you'll be on the other side of those commercials in the blink of an eye. If you hit the button during a program, you'll skip past your show and through the next commercial break, which is great for bypassing the dull parts you don't want to see. Although not all shows are available with the SkipMode feature, we've taken great pains to enable SkipMode on most of the most popular channels. And with TiVo AutoSkip, you can skip recorded ads automatically during selected shows. To give your thumb a rest, update your SkipMode preferences in Settings>User>Preferences>SkipMode>Automatic.
