Mami Wata

The narrative reflects a fable structure surrounding Mami Wata, a venerated African water spirit, and how this reverence affects the isolated village of Iyi. A clash of tradition and modernity ensues when a virus takes the life of a village boy. The village intermediary, Mama Efe, is questioned by the villagers and her own daughter. They are doubting if Mami Wata is really a guide or just a myth. Soon, a foreigner arrives at their shores, bringing the village into further turmoil.
