L.A. resident Barry is closing down his flailing business as the building that houses it is slated to be demolished to give way to the city's subway expansion. The construction work disturbs the man-monster submerged underneath the La Brea Tar Pits. Soon, Barry, his family, and former employees discover that this long-rumored urban legend of the pits might be real, after all.
